Prior to first pitch, the Pirates were in the midst of a 5-game skid looking to end the season on a high note. Seton Hall ultimately finished the season with a 24-30 overall record along with finishing sixth in the Big East with a 7-12 record. The Pirates took the lead in the first inning after an RBI single from Chrisa Head. St. John’s countered the score with the help of a triple from the Red Storm’s Krystal Puga. Seton Hall then came back to score two runs at the top of the third, but St. John’s answered the Pirates advances. The Red Storm finished the seventh inning with two unanswered runs. The Hall recorded the only stolen bases of the game and only walked twice. Head recorded her 14th and 15th RBIs of conference play, which is a team high. The freshmen class also led the way offensively for the Pirates. Chrisa Head and Ragen Reddick contributed in the losing effort, offering two RBI’s from Head, and a single RBI from Reddick. Senior Yasmin Harrell finished off her career as a Pirate hitting 3 for 4 while notching a run. Harrell will leave Seton Hall with the second-most hits and runs in school history. Harrell completes her career with 222 hits and 124 runs scored. She is second all-time in team history. She holds the program’s stolen base record with 82. Following Harrell, Seton Hall will be losing two seniors, Faith Laudano and Alex Rabbetts. Corey Thomas can be reached at corey.thomas@student.shu.edu
