Go started off the event by tying for last with a four-over-par, 76, in the first round of the Kohler Regional, hosted by Marquette University in Kohler, Wis. After this performance he composed himself in the second round, firing a two-under-par, 70, before going on to notch a two-over-par, 74, in the final round of the tournament. From the pool of golfers, comprised of the region’s best golfers, Go scored a four-over-par, 220, to earn third place. Second place Will Grimmer of Ohio State paced Go by only one stroke. The overall winner of the event, Ohio State’s Tee-k Kelly secured a trip the NCAA National Championship held in Eugene, Ore., by firing a seven-under-par, 209. Despite Go’s impressive close to the season, it is important not to forget the steps that he took to reach this point. The regular season saw Go notch nine top-ten finishes, five of which were top-5 finishes. Throughout the 11 regular season tournaments, Go averaged a 71.50 which is two strokes less than his sophomore season average, and can be attributed to his team-leading 12 sub-par rounds. On top of becoming the only Seton Hall golfer to earn All-Big East honors three times, Go made history during his victory of the Big East Championship by scoring a Callawassie Island course-record 7-under-par, 65. This score also holds as the second-lowest score for any school in the conference tournament’s history. With another season of accolades under his belt, Go’s senior effort will begin when the Pirates resume play for the Fall 2016 season.
