Gender inequalities, stereotypes need to end
By Mary Marshall | October 1At the age of 5, I told my teacher for the kindergarten school yearbook that I wanted to be the president of the United States. Looking back, it was a good start for the woman I thought I was destined to become, but as I got older things changed. Later on I was repeatedly told young ladies should be seen, not heard when I became too outspoken in class discussion, but that didn’t stop me.
Campus is our home, keep it clean
By Editorial Board | October 1With all the new facilities, dorms, classrooms and more, students should keep in mind that the only way to keep the campus looking nice is through their help. Every time somebody throws on the ground a cigarette butt, a water bottle, or anything else, it makes the campus look bad. Not only does it reflect poorly on our community, but it is detrimental to the environment.
Allowing hazing is allowing bullying
By Editorial Board | September 25The news about Kira Kazantsev, Miss America 2015, being a part of a hazing scandal when she was at Hofstra University, raises questions about what type of women young girls have to look up to today.

By Michelle Foti | September 18Alexander Wang, Badgley Mischka, Calvin Klein Collection, Diane Von Furstenberg, Elie Tahari, must I continue all the way to Z? New York Fashion Week has concluded—inevitably designer labels are on the brain along with the crazy, funky, flirty, flawless and fabulous styles.

Combating the mid-college crisis, or at least trying
By Samantha Giedris | September 11I remember the first time it really hit me. Sophomore year was almost officially over and I had one final left before completely immersing myself in the self-loathing process that is packing up my entire room after living on campus for another year. My mom called me and said something along the lines of “just think about it, you’re almost halfway done with college.”
Sept. 11: Talking about our generation
By Editorial Board | September 11Every American life was shaken by the September 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center. War, danger and fear seemed closer than they had ever been since Pearl Harbor. For young children living in the northeast, it was traumatizing. When the 9/11 attacks happened, most of us were around nine years old, an age where it seemed nothing could hurt us.
Why it will be another long season for Giants and Jets fans
By David Heim | September 4Hey Giants and Jets fans, I know what you are all thinking—“The 2014 season can’t possibly be any worse than 2013 right?”
Ferguson and South Orange through Midwestern eyes
By John Fanta | September 4There aren’t many more remarkable experiences than taking the 8:07 p.m. train from New York City and getting off in the small village of South Orange less than an hour later. It’s a daunting change of scenery for a Midwesterner like me, and the two places--the big city and the small village-- couldn’t be more different. But there is one common theme between the two, and it’s a theme that I’ve come to embrace at 400 South Orange Ave. as a student at Seton Hall University.
Wanderers be wary: stay safe in South Orange
By Editorial Board | September 4Recent arrests off-campus have brought up the issue of safety, as it usually does sometime during the academic year.

Letter from the Editor: What you are about to read almost did not exist
By Staff Writer | April 30It's Sunday evening. Curtains up: Cue me, in a cardigan and sweatpants, dark hair tied into a loose bun that screams "this is my last week of classes ever." Yesterday's mascara is making a sad attempt to keep me looking awake. Somehow my bed is neatly made, but there's a half-eaten chocolate bunny at the foot. My thesis papers and reporter notebooks are everywhere. I have a final-round job interview first thing in the morning. Sheesh.
