Seton Hall reports four new coronavirus cases in highest recorded single-day increase; several cases said to be ‘related’

Seton Hall recorded four new cases of the coronavirus on Wednesday evening, its highest single-day increase. According to the Health Intervention and Communication Team (HICT) dashboard, three of the cases appear to be related to another confirmed case from Oct. 20 – another first for the University which, until this point, had only reported isolated cases.

Seton Hall will pivot to in-person classes following Governor’s executive order

Seton Hall University announced on Friday that it would proceed with in-person instruction on its South Orange campus this fall beginning on August 31. The announcement follows an executive order issued by N.J. Gov. Phil Murphy on Wednesday which allows for colleges and universities in the state to proceed with their restart plans filed with the state despite not entering Stage Three of its economic reopening.

Seton Hall will offer a 'free ninth semester' to incoming freshmen

Seton Hall announced that it would offer a "free ninth semester" to some freshmen students enrolling in the fall 2020 semester last week. The announcement came just days after the School announced that it would walk back its plan to begin the semester in-person as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, citing New Jersey’s failure to enter Stage Three of its economic reopening.
