The commuter life in college is hard; waking up before the sun rises to get ready and rush out the door. But when commuters finally make it to campus, they face the most daunting task, which is even harder than their coursework: parking.
Even after all the hustle and bustle that many commuters face in the morning, commuters at Seton Hall face the dauntingly packed lot or deck with spots so tight that they are afraid to hit another car.
SHU students are fed up with the difficulty of parking on campus. Despite the expensive parking permits, it has become impossible for students to park anywhere on campus without a battle.
Many students claim that parking spots are too small or that there is never enough parking. And these students have decided to take matters into their own hands, fixing it with paint.
Students have decided to repaint parking spots all across SHU campus.
Students plan to make them bigger and easier for students to fit into. They have banded together, making it a campus-wide movement. Just grab a paintbrush and white paint to join in on the fun of redesigning the spots.
Some students have even spent weeks designing their own parking spots, picking different colors and designs to make their own big and grand spot just for their car. Similar to parking spots done by students during their senior year of high school, SHU students have picked up fun themes and ideas to design their spots.
While some have opted to design their parking spots with pretty color schemes of pastel pinks blues and yellows, others have designed their spots after their favorite TV shows or movies.
Other students have even organized the idea of valet parking to make it easier for students to get to their classes on time, arguing that the money they pay for student parking can be put toward it.
Many cannot wait to get started on making the parking bigger and better and plan to start their designs in late spring.
