Seton Hall men’s basketball head coach Shaheen Holloway announced that the Pirates are bringing back six-foot-six forward Elijah Fisher. He averaged 6.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 20.7 minutes per game as a Pirate last season.
Fisher is among 76 college basketball players in the Glancey v. NCAA lawsuit, which challenges the NCAA’s transition to its five-year eligibility model. Players who completed their fourth season in 2026 were denied a fifth year as the NCAA transitioned to the new model.
Fisher was granted a temporary injunction allowing him to pursue a fifth year of college basketball, though hearings on Sep. 29 and Dec. 3 could change that decision.
Fisher has spent every offseason in the transfer portal. He transferred from Texas Tech to DePaul, then to Pacific, before joining SHU for his senior year. Originally a wing, he played power forward out of necessity for the Pirates and thrived defensively.
He entered the transfer portal in April but ultimately returned to the Pirates for his fifth season.
Fisher is SHU’s 15th addition, leaving no remaining roster spots for the upcoming season. Brazilian commit Nathan Mariano will no longer join the Pirates this year.
Fisher is the only returning starter from last year’s team. He is slated to be the first power forward off the bench behind starter Devin Williams. Although undersized, Fisher brings defensive depth and versatility to the four position.
