The Seton Hall men’s basketball team made another addition to their backcourt, landing former Illinois guard Mihailo Petrovic through the transfer portal.
Petrovic arrives in South Orange after receiving limited playing time with Illinois. The 6-foot-3, 180 pound guard averaged 1.6 points, 0.7 rebounds and 1.1 assists while shooting 33% from the field in 5.7 minutes per game during his sophomore season. Although he may have played a limited role, Petrovic was also a member of the Illinois team that, during the 2025-26 season, made it to their first Final Four since 2005.
A native of Prokuplje, Serbia, Petrovic brings extensive international experience. Prior to his collegiate career, Petrovic represented Serbia on their Under-16 and Under-20 squads, and made a brief appearance on the senior national team during European Championship qualifying. He also played in the Adriatic League, which originally featured teams from the former nation of Yugoslavia, averaging 14.2 points and 7.3 assists per game.
Petrovic adds depth to a backcourt that has already welcomed transfers Rodney Brown, Kareem Thomas, Roddie Anderson III, Del Jones and Simeon Wilcher this offseason. After a limited role at Illinois, Petrovic heads to South Orange looking to have a bounce-back second-season in the states.
