Seton Hall added more size to its men’s basketball roster on Thursday, landing Western Carolina transfer Abdulai Fanta Kabba through the transfer portal.
The 7-foot center is the latest addition to the Pirates’ offseason rebuild as the team continues to reshape its roster. Kabba joins a revamped frontcourt that already includes transfers Devin Williams (FAU), Chris Nwuli (Rutgers) and Nathan Mariano (NBA G-League).
Kabba spent the 2025-26 season with the Western Carolina Catamounts appearing in 31 games and averaging 4.7 points, 5.8 rebounds and 0.9 blocks per game. Before transferring to Western Carolina, Kabba played his freshman season at Denver, where he averaged 4.4 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game.
One of the most underrated aspects of Kabba’s game is his impact on the glass, especially offensively. Last season, he averaged 2.8 offensive rebounds per game and used his 7-foot-5 wingspan to create second-chance opportunities for the Catamounts.
With the addition of Kabba, SHU continues to add size and depth to its roster ahead of the 2026-27 season. The Pirates still have three roster spots available for Head Coach Shaheen Holloway to continue to build his team.
