Seton Hall sophomore Marta Aguilar continues to shine, earning BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week honors for the third time this season on Thursday.
It is already the sixth time in her career that Aguilar has received the award, adding to her growing list of achievements. Last season, the Casares, Malaga, Spain native was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Year while also earning a spot on the All-BIG EAST Team.
Last weekend, Aguilar shared first place at the Rutgers Invitational, the fourth tournament title of her career. She finished tying with Penn’s Mi Li after posting a 6-over-par score of 219 across three rounds.
In the final round, Aguilar recorded two birdies and 14 pars to shoot a 1-over-par 72. Her performance helped lead SHU to a fifth-place team finish.
This win is Aguilar’s second title of the spring and fourth overall, which is already the most in program history for a female golfer at The Hall.
Aguilar and the Pirates will return to action at the BIG EAST Championship from April 25-27 in Okatie, South Carolina, where they will look to build on their already strong season.
