Stephen A. Smith to make third visit to Seton Hall, broadcast live from University Center

“The face of ESPN” will host two programs live from SHU’s campus next week.

Stephen A. Smith, one of the most prominent voices in sports media, will visit Seton Hall on Tuesday, March 24, the university announced in a press release on Thursday.

During his visit, Smith will broadcast live from the University Center’s Gallagher Studio, hosting both ESPN’s “First Take” from 10 a.m to noon, as well as “The Stephen A. Smith Show” on SiriusXM Mad Dog Sports Radio (Channel 82) from 1 to 3 p.m.

“First Take, ESPN’s weekday morning debate program, features discussion of top sports stories and headlines,” the press release said. “Smith will appear from Seton Hall while the broadcast connects with ESPN’s Hudson Yards studio in New York.

“Following a midday break, Smith will return to Gallagher Studio for his SiriusXM program, a daily sports talk show known for commentary on major sports news and audience interaction,” the release continued.

This marks Smith’s third visit to SHU, with his last coming in 2023, when he hosted a group of 75 students for a candid discussion about sports media.

His upcoming visit was organized through a collaboration between the Center for Sport Management, led by Director Charles Grantham—Smith’s friend and colleague—and the Center for Sports Media, led by Director B.J. Schecter.
