SGA finance committee gets new leadership

The Student Government Association announced a new Finance Committee chair on Monday in response to budget request issues brought up during the SGA Town Hall.

Dante Bertoli, a freshman at-large senator, was chosen as chair.

During the Town Hall on Oct. 24, SGA Treasurer Ross Pantano mentioned a transfer of power in the SGA’s Finance Committee, after the resignation of the previous chair.

Bertoli, who was already on the Finance Committee, said he hopes to “achieve greatness” through stabilization.

“We’re trying to give everyone the best opportunity to throw great events,” Bertoli said. “Finance is an important part of how we run.”

During the Town Hall, Pantano said that glitches in Engage, the University’s software for TKTK resulted in them receiving multiple requests from other organizations for $0.

“That’s been taken care of,” Pantano said. “Things have started to move.”

Bertoli repeated Pantano’s statements Monday night, as he also said that the issues with Engage had been fixed.
