Seton Hall announced its campuses will be closed on Monday due to an incoming snowstorm, but said that classes will continue for students virtually and that the University’s business operations will continue.
Campuses will be limited to essential personnel only, starting at 8:45 a.m., according to a Pirate Alert sent to the campus community.
The National Weather Service has declared a winter storm warning in every county of the state, and expects the storm, which started Sunday afternoon, to blanket the Newark area under 18 to 24 inches of snow by Tuesday.
New Jersey officially entered a state of emergency, which was ordered by Gov. Phil Murphy on Sunday, at 7:00 pm in anticipation of blizzard-like conditions which will make travel “very difficult to impossible,” according to the weather service.
All on-street parking has been suspended in South Orange, according to the Village’s Office of Emergency Management, which also noted that the Village was considering declaring its own state of emergency.
SHUfly and SafeRide services have also been canceled indefinitely due to the conditions, according to the Pirate Alert.
