A 6-foot-1 guard, he will help fill the gap left by Isaiah Whitehead in the backcourt. Jones is expected to share duties with Khadeen Carrington at the point, along with new add-on Eron Gordon and Kansas State transfer Jevon Thomas, upon Thomas’s eligibility after the fall semester. Jones’s time at Wake Forest ended upon his dismissal from the school’s team last August following a charge for driving under the influence. In his three years at Wake Forest, Jones averaged 3.9 points, 2.7 assists, 1.8 rebounds and 20.3 minutes per game on 45.1 percent shooting. The Pirates are still waiting for power forward Taurean Thompson to make his decision between Seton Hall, Michigan State and Syracuse. Even with Jones expected to sign on, Seton Hall will still have a scholarship available for Thompson, according to Zagoria.
