Men's soccer still winless after loss to Princeton

[caption id="attachment_11279" align="aligncenter" width="574"]11382760 Seton Hall Athletics[/caption] The Seton Hall men’s soccer team is still winless after trading goals in a 3-2 loss to the Princeton Tigers Tuesday night. Junior Samuel Geiler scored the first game-tying goal in the 29th minute. Freshman Alex Pozesky was credited with his first assist of the season after sending a through-ball to Geiler. With that score, Geiler now leads the team in goals scored with three. In the 44th minute, redshirt junior Danny Bartok scored the second game-tying goal game near the end of the first half. The goal came off a cross from sophomore Lukas Pangonis. Bartok now has two goals on the season. The game-winning goal came in the second half from Thomas Sanner. The senior scored a header off a cross from classmate Josh Miller in the 56th minute. Sanner is leading his team in goals with six on the season. The Tigers scored early in the match off a goal from senior Nico Hurtado in the fourth minute. Hurtado now has two goals on the season. The goal came off an assist from senior Brendan McSherry. McSherry is now tied for the team lead in assists with three. Sophomore Daniel Bowkett scored his first goal of the season off a penalty kick in the 39th minute. Both teams took a similar amount of shots in the first half as Princeton had seven shots and Seton Hall had eight. The second half was a different story as the Tigers outshot the Blue and White 12-3. The Pirates will look to get their first win of the season on Saturday, Oct. 10 at 8 p.m. when they visit the Marquette Golden Eagles.
