The Pirates were desperate for a win, as they are coming off two straight home losses. The game started quickly for the Pirates on Sunday, and they found themselves trailing after a three-minute header from Bison midfielder Sebastiaan Blickman. Things then escalated quickly as senior midfield Chris Thorsheim made it 2-0 after only 14 minutes. As the 20-minute mark hit, the Pirates offense finally settled into the game as midfielder Andres Arcila started to get a hold of the ball and create chances for his team. However, the Bison scored two more goals in a 10-minute span to bring the lead to 4-0. Halftime adjustments were made by the Pirates as they started the second half aggressively firing shots on goal. They landed eight on-target, but none of them managed to sneak in. The 4-0 score held as the Pirates dropped to 0-4-1 on the season. A positive, though, was the fact that this was the first contest this season that SHU out-shot an opponent. Seton Hall led the Bison 20-12. Today was also the debut of junior goalkeeper Brandon Barnes, who recorded three saves. The Pirates now turn to a long nine-day break in regular season action. Their next match will be the always thrilling Alumni Match at Owen T. Carroll Field on Sept. 18.   Sydney Kpundeh can be reached at sydney.kpundeh@student.shu.edu
