DiRocco stays locked in on the mound

As he stands bent over on the pitcher's mound, gripping the baseball in his hand while staring down the opposing hitter at bat, senior right-handed pitcher Joe DiRocco isn't worried about his statistics, awards or professional scouts in the stands; he simply wants to be the player leading his team and striking a few hitters out while at it.

Seahawks strike out

The Seton Hall baseball team defeated the Wagner Seahawks on the road on Wednesday afternoon by a score of 8-4, improving their record to 15-15 (4-5). The Seahawks, who are 10-20 (8-8), are one of 19 non-conference opponents the Pirates play this season.

Mobley signs with Hall

Men's basketball head coach Kevin Willard added his sixth player from the Class of 2011 on Wednesday with the verbal commit of Brandon Mobley, a 6-foot-9 combo forward out of St. John's Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, Wis., as reported by zagsblog.com.

Men's basketball forward Anali Okoloji has decided to depart from the Pirates to pursue transfer opportunities, as was announced by head coach Kevin Willard this morning.

Softball winless in Big East

The softball team dropped a doubleheader on Wednesday to St. John's, falling to 12-21 on the season and remaining winless in Big East play, 0-8.

St. John's 'Storms' on women's tennis

The Seton Hall women's tennis team was defeated by St. Johns, 6-1, after sweeping Villanova 7-0 this past weekend, moving the team's record to 5-12 overall and 2-6 in conference play.

Softball team swept by Pittsburgh

The Seton Hall softball team entered the weekend coming off a four game winning streak with a three game home match up against Big East competitor Pittsburgh. Coach Vander May entered the weekend looking to pick up career victory 400 in their opening Big East match up.

Softball struggles in Big East Play

As the season continues so too does success and defeat for the Seton Hall Pirates Softball Team (12-16, 0-3). After winning the Seton Hall Pirate Classic defeating Sacred Heart, 3-1, in the championship game the Pirates played host to the Pittsburgh Panthers (22-6, 3-0).

Marissa Muoio stepped up to the plate, took a deep breath, and threw the bat over her shoulder. Hitting a softball has always been the weakest part of her game, but each new at bat is another chance to prove her worth. "Just be aggressive," she told herself. "Make contact."

Pirates 'storm' St. John's

The Pirates used a late decisive run to defeat the 15th ranked St. John's Red Storm on Thursday by a score of 84-70. The win improves the Pirates to 12-17 and 6-11 in Big East play, while St. John's drops to 19-10, 11-6 and the Big East.
