Pirates win season opener

The women's basketball team opened up their season with a 57-51 win over Florida Gulf Coast University on Friday night at Walsh Gymnasium.

Playoff spot at stake for volleyball team

With five positions for the Big East tournament locked up, the volleyball team looks to earn their spot in the tournament as they enter two must-win matches this weekend against St. John's and Connecticut at Walsh Gymnasium.

Women's soccer ends successful year

The Pirates finished the 2011 season with their best record since 2008, finishing 9-8-3 overall and 4-6-1 in the Big East, and making their first Big East Tournament since 2006.

Swimming teams remain undefeated

Both the men's and women's swimming and diving teams remain undefeated this season after sweeping Lafayette and Loyola this weekend as well as Iona on Tuesday.

Pirates upset No. 3 Connecticut

The Pirates stunned No. 3 Connecticut on Sunday evening with a 1-0 victory on senior night at Owen T. Carroll Field to snap a seven game losing streak, and earned their first Big East win of the season.
