Seton Hall men’s golf rounds out first half of 2026-2027 campaign at Bryson Invitational

The Seton Hall men’s golf team finished 10th with 22 over par.

The Seton Hall men’s golf team capped its fall 2026 campaign with a 10th place finish at the Bryson Invitational on Wednesday.

The three-day competition took place at the Trump National Doral in Miami, Florida, and featured 63 athletes.

As a team, the Pirates finished 22 over par, highlighted by an impressive second round where they shot two under par.

Junior Will Hennessee led the way for the Pirates, finishing tied for 20th with a two over par round. Hennessee had a shaky start in round one, shooting four over par. However, a par on round two and two under on round three brought him back, moving him up 11 places on the final round.

Sophomore Blake Goodnight placed second for the Pirates and tied for 37th overall. Goodnight started strong, going three over on round one and one under on the second. A plus four on round three dropped him 16 spots, bringing his final score to six over par. Despite the seemingly drastic shift, a plus three on the 16th hole was the only hiccup in an otherwise strong performance.

Close behind Goodnight, senior Isaiah Williams tied for 41st at eight over par. Williams played consistently over the three-day tournament, shooting two over in the first round, four over in the second and two over in the third.

After Williams, freshman Dylan Holmes shot 12 over par and tied for 51st. After a tough first round where he went 12 over par, Holmes followed up with the Pirates’ best round of the competition with three under in the second.

Junior Luke Nolan, ranking fifth amongst the Pirates’ shots, rounded out the competition at 17 over par, placing 58th overall. Across the invitational, Nolan struggled to find consistency, shooting eight over in the first round, rebounding to two over in the second before posting seven over in the third. While Nolan’s outing was inconsistent, it looks like a blip on an otherwise strong 2026 season, with him placing in the top half of the field at every other meet.

Because weather limits play in many parts of the country, the NCAA splits the collegiate golf season into two parts, with play resuming for most schools around early February. The Pirates will be back in action on Feb. 8 at the BIG EAST Match Play Invitational in West Palm Beach, Florida.
