Hall In, Seton Hall’s alumni team competing in The Basketball Tournament (TBT), added two more former Pirates to its roster with Al-Amir Dawes and Romaro Gill joining the team.
Dawes and Gill join Isaiah Whitehead, Darnell Brodie, KC Ndefo, Phillip Carr, Myles Cale and Anthony Nelson on the Hall In roster as the alumni squad continues to build its team for this summer’s tournament.

Dawes played two seasons at SHU after transferring from Clemson, returning to his hometown of Newark to play for the Pirates. During the 2022-23 season, he led the team in scoring, averaging 12.6 points per game, and led Seton Hall with 78 three-pointers.
The following season, Dawes earned All-Met Second Team honors and was named the NIT’s Most Valuable Player. He averaged a career-high 14.7 points per game and scored 24 points in the NIT Championship victory over Indiana State.
Last season, Dawes played for Saint-Chamond in France, averaging 9.7 points in 18.8 minutes per game across 12 appearances.
Similar to Dawes, Gill’s college career did not begin with the Pirates; however, once he arrived, his impact was evident.
Beginning his college career with two seasons at Vincennes University, a junior college in Indiana, he worked his way to the 10th spot in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) in blocked shots his sophomore season.
Gill arrived at SHU in 2017, where the Jamaica native started 29 of his 57 career games, earning Big East Most Improved Player and Big East Defensive Player of the Year honors during the 2019-20 season, his senior year, with the Pirates.
After his college career, the 7-foot-two big man played for Club Ourense Baloncesto in Spain.
Hall In will face Boeheim’s Army, Syracuse’s alumni team led by former Syracuse guard Buddy Boeheim, in a first-round best-of-three series. The series begins at SHU’s Walsh Gym on July 21 at 7 p.m. and will air live on FS1.
Game two will be played at Syracuse’s Upstate Medical Arena on July 23 at 7 p.m. on FS2. If necessary, game three will also be played in Syracuse on July 24, at 7 p.m.
