Seton Hall men’s basketball continued its offseason rebuild on Tuesday, securing a commitment from former Bowling Green State University forward Mayar Wol out of the transfer portal as Head Coach Shaheen Holloway and the Pirates prepare for the 2026-27 season.
Wol brings his talents to The Hall after a strong season at Bowling Green, where the 6-foot-8 forward averaged 10.5 points, 2.7 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game while shooting 48.6% from the field.
After averaging only 4.8 three pointers per game with a 30.5% three point percentage last season, improving perimeter shooting became a priority for Holloway in the Pirates' offseason rebuild.
Wol shot 39.1% from beyond the arc at Bowling Green, finishing the 2025-26 season as one of Bowling Green’s top perimeter shooting threats. Wol also scored a career-high 32 points against Akron in January.
Before Bowling Green, Wol played for the Eastern Kentucky Colonels s, appearing in 32 games during the 2024-25 season with 20 starts. He entered college as a former four-star recruit, ranked among the top forwards in North Carolina coming out of high school.
Wol joins a SHU roster that already features transfers Simeon Wilcher, Rodney Brown, Roddie Anderson III, Del Jones, Chris Nwuli and Devin Williams as Holloway continues to revamp the program ahead of the upcoming season.
Wol’s size and shooting ability could give the Pirates another scoring option in the frontcourt. His ability to stretch the floor adds another scoring threat to a SHU team that has been trying to add as many scorers as possible throughout their offseason.
