Seton Hall University’s Class of 2026 will celebrate commencement on May 18, at the Prudential Center in Newark.
This year’s commencement speaker is best-selling author Dr. Arthur C. Brooks, who will also receive an honorary degree. Diane M. Foley, president and founder of the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation, will also receive an honorary degree.
When To Arrive
The Baccalaureate Commencement Ceremony is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. Students are expected to arrive at the arena by 7:45 a.m to prepare for the procession.
Doors will open for graduates at 7:30 a.m., while guests can begin entering the arena at 7 a.m. Guests are encouraged to arrive before 8:15 a.m to ensure they are in their seats by the ceremony’s start. An unlimited number of guests may attend the ceremony, with seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are not necessary for entry.
What To Wear
Graduates are required to wear academic attire, including a cap and gown, during the ceremony.
These items will be distributed by the university ahead of commencement. Students are required to present identification when picking up their cap and gown. Students designating another individual to pick up their attire must provide written permission.
Immediately following commencement, baccalaureate graduates must return their cap and gown at the designated areas in the Prudential Center.
Transportation
For faculty, staff and students who need transportation to the ceremony, bus service from campus will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis. Seats are limited and any interested parties should reserve a seat no later than May 13 at 5 p.m.
