Cavazzoni earns BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after baseball’s 3-1 week

The junior infielder bats .500 and drives in six runs during a strong four-game stretch of play.

Seton Hall baseball stayed hot this past week, and junior infielder Gabe Cavazzoni was a big reason why.

On Monday, Cavazzoni was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after helping lead the Pirates to a 3-1 record, including a weekend series win over Hofstra.

Cavazzoni put together one of his best weeks of the season. He batted .500, going 7-for-14 at the plate while driving in six runs for The Hall. In their rubber match against Hofstra on March 22, Cavazzoni came through with a huge RBI triple to help secure the series win. He was a lethal threat in the lineup all week, having a strong 1.397 OPS across SHU’s four games.

The Hall will look to keep momentum going on Wednesday, when they host rival Princeton at Mike Sheppard Sr. Stadium at Owen T. Carroll Field, with the first pitch set for 4 p.m.
