Seton Hall entered Sunday’s third round in the bottom half of the standings, but thanks to a round-best 306, the Hall was able to climb the standings and finish fifth in the field of 14. Tenhundfeld led the Pirates with a 225, which placed her second overall in the tournament. She finished just four strokes behind Fairleigh Dickinson’s Gabriela Santini who was the tournament’s individual champion. It was Tenhundfeld’s tenth top-10 finish and her sixth top-five finish. Seton Hall also received a strong performance from sophomore Cassie Pantelas, who just missed out on a top 10 finish. Pantelas shot a 233, which placed her 11th amongst the field. Karlie Zabrosky also helped contribute to the Pirates with top-five finish. She shot a 237 and finished 20th through the three-round tournament. Unfortunately for the Pirates, none of the other team members placed in the top 20. Macky Fouse posted the Hall’s next best score with a 248, which placed her 47th. Along with the Pirates, the Becknell Invitational featured St. Francis (PA), St. John’s, Monmouth, Siena, LIU-Brooklyn, Valparaiso, Bucknell, Kutztown, Niagara, Fairleigh Dickinson, Princeton, Richmond and Lehigh. Fairleigh Dickinson ran away with the tournament, shooting a combined score of 919, 14 strokes fewer than the Pirates. Princeton finished close behind, shooting a combined score of 922, just three strokes behind Fairleigh Dickinson. Seton Hall will be back on the course on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Princeton Invitational. Matthew Rachek can be reached at matthew.rachek@student.shu.edu or on Twitter @matthewrachek
