Senior Column: Responding to a random email was worthwhile

With graduation only a few weeks away I have really begun to think about the past four years of my life that I have spent at Seton Hall.

Every time I think about it I also could not imagine another school being a better fit for me and what I want to do, and to think I only ap­plied because I got an email waiv­ing the application fee.

It is clich?©, but the people I have met here will stay with me past graduation and into my future. While at times things were less than ideal, it was all still worth it.

Besides my peers the faculty has been more than generous to me, especially those in the communi­cations department that I have got­ten to know well like Dr. Nyberg who I got to know through show­ing up to Wednesday nights at The Setonian as a freshman.

The student newspaper is the only organization that I planned on joining when I first arrived on campus and gave me some of my best memories as I worked for it.

Getting to attend all the men's basketball games and traveling around to cover the team became more enjoyment than work.

Getting to work alongside to top college basketball writer and ana­lysts in the country just made me want to continue more and I don't think I would have gotten that op­portunity since my freshman year.

It was covering sports for the student newspaper I got to know the athletic department well and I think it would be hard to find a school with a better one.

Any request I made over my four years, whether it be a player or coach, was met along with just be­ing able to interact with them as another member of the media and not as a student.

The biggest thing that I have taken away from my time at Seton Hall is a further desire for what I want to do once graduation comes in 18 days.

All the experiences from in the classroom and beyond have given me a taste of what I want to do with my life and I could not thank the school enough.

It's amazing what good things can come from responding to a random email.
