A Seton Hall alumnus discussed his memories of working for WSOU in the late 1950s with The Setonian.
When I was getting ready to start my senior year at SHU, all I knew was I wanted to make it the best year ever. I was thinking about what I hadn’t done yet in college and the one thing that took over my thinking was study abroad. I had never left America, and it was at the top of my bucket list.
Alumnus Ed Lucas ’62 said he was the first blind student at Seton Hall with a seeing eye dog.
Seton Hall held its ninth annual Pirates Pitch Competition on April 3 in the Jubilee Auditorium. Pirates Pitch is a competition for students who want to pitch their own start-up business idea or have already started their own business.
It is a well-known fact that the Pirate is Seton Hall’s mascot, but not many people know who is under the suit. Brendan Kane, a senior sports management and marketing major, said he was one of the students who has worn the suit since June 2016.
On Feb. 8 and 9, a group of Seton Hall students traveled to a campground an hour away for the annual Fan Into Flame Retreat.
In 1986, Seton Hall pitcher Doug Cinnella was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles. He was six credits short of graduation at the time he was drafted, but in the offseason of 1990, he came back to SHU to complete his communications degree.
Last semester, Seton Hall’s radio station, WSOU, held their fifth annual food drive as part of the “Students Change Hunger” program. WSOU collected 908 pounds of food for the Food Bank of New Jersey, surpassing their goal of 895 pounds, which was chosen based on its frequency, 89.5 FM.
