Late season slump dooms softball

Finishing the season on a downward turn, the Pirates' softball team lost a doubleheader on Wednesday to the Stony Brook Seawolves, 6-2 and 2-0. The loss extends to Hall's losing streak to seven consecutive games and puts the team at 19-31 (8-11) as the regular season ends.

Walk-on finally makes presence felt

While Sunday marks Senior Day for the softball team, for Danielle Zanzalari it's a day that may never have had the chance to take place. The valedictorian of her class, Zanzalari chose to attend Seton Hall for the name and academics rather than accepting scholarship offers from lesser known Division II and III schools. Her decision to try-out came at the end of summer after her father ran into Assistant Coach Bob Guerriero and alerted the coaching staff that his daughter would be attending the school.

Baseball ends winless streak

One week after being swept by Notre Dame, the Seton Hall baseball team lost two out of three on the road to No. 11 Louisville. The Pirates lost the first two games of the series before scratching out a victory in the series finale.

Winless streak continues with tie

Prior to Tuesday afternoon's game in Old Westbury, N.Y. against NYIT, five out of the Pirates' last six games were decided by no more than a run. They continued this trend at President's Field, this time by way of a 12-12 draw.

Lack of pitching key in loss

The Pirates' rally fell short when they left the tying run on third base with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning in a 7-6 loss to Wagner on Wednesday at Owen T. Carroll Field.

Baseball ready for cellar dwellers

Following a failed attempt at a ninth inning comeback against Wagner College, the Seton Hall baseball team will look at Notre Dame this weekend as a chance to move forward.
