Three Pirates, men's soccer's redshirt senior goalkeeper Michael Kuzan and freshman Amanda Hansen and sophomore Shelbey Manthorpe of the volleyball team, were honored by the Big East Conference on Monday for their in-game performances this week.
The men's soccer team's two-game winning streak was snapped on Saturday as the Pirates lost its first Big East match by one goal as Syracuse beat the Pirates,1-0. The lone goal came in the 26th minute off the foot of Orange freshman Jordan Vale, after finishing a cross. The Pirates attempted to rally back in the second half, with five shots on goal, however no Pirate connected with the back of the net. Goalie Michael Kuzan made a career-high 14 saves on the night.
