Stillman alumnus, wife pledge $1 million gift to Stillman school to aid students

Helen and Bob Wright pledged a planned gift to support scholarships and academic accessibility through the university’s For All, Forever campaign.

Seton Hall announced on Thursday that Helen A. Wright and Stillman alumnus Robert E. “Bob” Wright ‘67 have pledged a $1 million planned gift to support students in the Stillman School of Business. The gift will support the For All, Forever campaign, expanding on its mission to make education more accessible.

In remarks included in the university’s announcement, Wright said his education at SHU was pivotal in shaping his career. He went on to a 43-year career at PrincewaterhouseCoopers accounting firm.

“Seton Hall was a transitional moment in my life,” Wright said.

The Wrights’ contribution places them in SHU’s Benjamin Savage Society, a group recognizing donors who include the University in their estate plans. Their gift also qualifies for the university’s Legacy Challenge, which provides a cash match for newly documented planned gifts, supporting the RISE Scholarship Program.

In a university statement, Msgr. Reilly, president of SHU, said gifts like this help the university strengthen its academic mission.

“Because of gifts like Bob and Helen’s, we’re able to plan for our future success and better serve our students who go on to enrich and empower our communities,” Msgr. Reilly said.

The Wrights also established the Robert E. Wright Accounting Scholarship in 2013 to assist Stillman students pursuing accounting degrees with financial need.
