Seton Hall women’s basketball will move forward without one of its top young players next year, as Zahara Bishop has transferred to Auburn after an impressive freshman season.
Bishop announced her decision to enter the transfer portal on March 30, now landing in the SEC. She earned a spot on the BIG EAST All-Freshman Team and was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week three times, while also being named the All-Met Division I Rookie of the Year. She played in all 32 games for Seton Hall, making 18 starts, averaging 8.4 points and 3.3 rebounds in 22.7 minutes per game.
Bishop reached double figures in scoring 10 times and posted two 20-point games. One of her top performances came at DePaul on Jan. 17, where she scored a career-high 21 points on 8-for-10 shooting. She also recorded a double-double earlier in the season with 19 points and 10 rebounds against Washington State on Dec. 16.
Her exit adds to a growing list of roster changes for the Pirates, as the program continues to reshape its lineup heading into next season.
