On Monday, the BIG EAST named Seton Hall softball’s Karissa Dupuis and Lea Kosinski to its Weekly Honor Roll.
A junior right-handed pitcher and graduate catcher, respectively, the duo helped lead the Pirates (10-11, 2-4 BIG EAST) to a 4-1 week, during which they took both games in their doubleheader against Wagner and earned two wins over UConn, securing their first series win over the Huskies since 2013 in the process.
In three starts on the week, Dupuis amassed a 3-0 record while posting a 2.84 ERA in 17.2 innings and 11 strikeouts.
After allowing just one run while striking out five batters in 5.2 innings in the Pirates’ series-opening 5-4 win over UConn behind a walk-off homer by teammate Katey Brennan, Dupuis returned to the pitching circle for the series’ rubber match, where she pitched The Hall’s first complete game of the season in an 8-5 series-clinching win for SHU.
While Dupuis led the Pirates on defense, Kosinski did so on offense: in five starts, the graduate catcher had a .583 batting average with one home run, two runs scored and four RBI. She logged a hit in every game to achieve a six-game hitting streak as well.
Dupuis and Kosinski will return to the diamond on Tuesday when they face in-state rivals Rider for a midweek doubleheader in Lawrenceville, N.J.
