University announces a new Newark satellite space and Welcome Center

The University announced the opening of a new satellite space and welcome center within Newark’s Gateway Complex, according to an Inside the Hall news release sent out Monday.

The new satellite space, which is within walking distance of Seton Hall Law and the Prudential Center, will give students direct access to the Newark Penn Station transit hub, a number of area parking garages, and easy access to Newark Airport, the news release said.

The floor resembles a basketball court, and the area can be used for pre-game receptions for men’s basketball, according to the news release. The area can also be utilized for alumni meet-ups, tourism for potential students, and information sessions. The space will be used as “another home” for the University’s Newark-focused community outreach programs.

An open house preview of the new space is scheduled for Nov. 9, from 5 to 7 p.m.
