Students Fall Fashion around Campus

The summer season has ended and fall has begun and students are switching out their tank tops for sweaters, shorts for jeans and their sandals for boots.

Chris Marsicovetere, a freshman accounting major, said he chooses a more comfortable, cozy look like other college students.

“I like to wear hoodies, sweatpants, and jeans,” Marsicovetere said. “Maybe some nice sneakers or boots, or a cool denim jacket.”

He said his color scheme for the fall season consists of darker tones and he likes to accessorize.

“You can’t go wrong with a beanie,” Marsciovetere said.

Matt Allen, a freshman biology major, said he loves to layer and accessorize with his fall outfits, as long as they are not “too flashy in color.”

“I like wearing jeans a lot more, and I like cool jackets, especially my orange varsity jacket,” Allen said.

He said that he was excited to finally wear his UGG slippers now that it isn’t too hot outside to wear them.

Nylon Fashion said 90’s grunge is one of Fall 2022’s biggest fashion trends. Items like chunky shoes, ripped denim and knit sweaters are the next trend.

Allure Magazine said that the trendy makeup look this fall will consist of sunburnt blush, pastel eyes, and red lips.

Allure said the “winged” eyeliner look, a popular eyeliner shape in the form of a wing on the outer eye, will be changed for a “less dramatic” look this fall.

“Because wings have been popular all year — and basically for eternity — French anticipates softer liner looks to take over this fall,” Allure said.

Catherine Jones, a freshman biology major, said she is a cold weather fan and that flannels are making a comeback this year.

“My fall closet looks a lot like flannels, cargo pants and hoodies,” Jones said. “Lots and lots of hoodies.”

Jones said she agrees with Nylon Magazine that grunge fashion is “definitely making a comeback.”

“I’m a little upset by it because I don’t want to look like I’m just following the trend, but I am seeing a lot of people bring back that look,” Jones said.

Most importantly, Jones said she wants people to know that black eyeliner is key to any fall makeup look.

Students are expressing themselves through their fall season outfits, regardless of what is currently trendy this fall.
