Auburn Transfer Jala Jordan Chooses Seton Hall as Next Home

After a first-round loss in the SEC Tournament to Alabama a few weeks ago, redshirt junior Jala Jordan elected to enter her name in the transfer portal. A Philadelphia native, Jordan chose to stay within the tri-state area and has committed to join the Seton Hall women’s basketball program beginning in Fall 2022.

Jordan began her playing career at West Virginia University during the 2018-2019 season, where she played just one season and averaged 1.7 points and 1.2 rebounds in 6.5 minutes of action over 25 appearances. She then decided to take her talents to the SEC with the Auburn Tigers, where she sat out assumedly because of transfer implications and a COVID-19 shortened season. During her 2 seasons at Auburn, she contributed 6.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in about 16.5 minutes per game, a bigger role than what was seen at WVU.

A career-high 23 points versus Grambling this past December poses high hopes for the Pirates’ newest addition. Her ability to stretch the floor and to be physical down low is going to pair well with current Seton Hall big Sidney Cooks. Jordan’s 6’2” stature provides size and elusiveness for head coach Anthony Bozzella’s future lineups. Jordan and Lauren Park-Lane may form one of the deadliest pick-and-pop duos in the Big East next season.

Seton Hall will continue their season with a WNIT Final Four matchup against Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro, TN at 7:30 pm on Thursday, March 31st.
