Espinoza-Hunter suspended ahead of women's basketball's Big East opener against No. 2 UConn

Graduate student Andra Espinoza-Hunter was suspended from the Seton Hall women's basketball team's Big East opener agaisnt No. 2 University of Connecticut for a violation of team rules, head coach Anthony Bozzella announced on Friday.

The announcement came just hours before the Pirates were set to host the Huskies in their first Big East Conference game of the season.

Espinoza-Hunter is the team's second-leading scorer and top rebounder, averaging 18.2 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. She has started all five of the Pirates' games this season as they head into Friday night's game with a 3-2 record. Last season, she recorded 15 points and three rebounds at UConn.

Seton Hall is set to play UConn at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Walsh Gymnasium.
