The Pirates quickly caught up towards the end and showed up in the paint and snatched rebounds on both ends of the court. The Pirates led DePaul 17-13 after the first quarter. Elmore led the Pirates with six points and Espinoza-Hunter had four in the successful first frame.

Seton Hall was able to keep their lead deep into the second quarter, and Park-Lane hit a buzzer beating three at the end of the second to tie the game at 31-31. Both teams were weak from the three-point arc where the Pirates only had one at the half while the Blue Demons had two.

The second half started off with a 9-0 run by DePaul. The Blue Demons held their own in the third quarter by scoring 30 points, leading the Pirates by 10, 61-51.

In the final quarter, DePaul remained in control as Seton Hall scraped back in the final minutes. Park-Lane and Mya Jackson hit back-to-back threes, cutting the Pirates deficit to six at 78-72. The Pirates got no closer from there and succumbed to DePaul 82-76.

Poor performance at the free throw line factored into the Pirates loss. They went 7-16 from the stripe (43.8%).

Seton Hall will return to action at home in Walsh Gymnasium on Wednesday at 7 p.m. against Georgetown.
