A portion of the Big East women’s basketball schedule was released Friday afternoon, with Seton Hall set to play their first two home games against UConn and Marquette.
While four games will be played by each program between Dec. 4 and Dec. 22, the remainder of the Big East schedule will be released on a later date.
The Pirates are scheduled to open the season away to Butler on Dec. 4 before hosting Big East returner and women’s basketball powerhouse UConn on Dec. 6. The Pirates will also play Marquette at home in their third game on Dec. 19 and wrap up their four-game schedule with an away game against Georgetown on Dec. 22.
No fans will be permitted to attend either of Seton Hall’s two home games as per New Jersey and Big East COVID-19 guidelines.
Last season, the Pirates went 5-1 against Marquette, Georgetown and Butler. Although UConn was not yet back in the Big East, the Pirates played the Huskies in a non-conference game at the Walsh Gymnasium where they lost 78-92. Their only in-conference loss to these teams last season came away from home to Marquette.
Seton Hall returned a strong roster from last year, including unanimous Preseason All-Big East selection Desiree Elmore and Big East All-Freshman pick Mya Jackson.
