Campaign for cleanliness coming to SHU

The Student Government Association is planning a campaign to keep the campus clean.

The effort is spearheaded by junior Kayla Toomer, SGA at-large senator and chair for the Student Life Committee.

Toomer said she is collaborating with Student Life and with John Signorello, associate vice president of facilities and operations, to put this initiative into action, starting with adding more trash cans.

The main focus of the "cleanliness campaign" is the parking garage and campus Green.

Toomer said she and the Student Life Committee started this campaign by picking up trash around campus at least once a week.

"I want to inform them (students) of the importance in keeping our campus clean in order to make it suitable, comfortable and of course enjoyable for all to take part in," she said. "We have such a beautiful campus that deserves our efforts to maintain its beauty."
