Seton Hall Alumni Katherine Cueva said she offered to help raise funds in conjunction with the charitable organization. She said that the LLS aims to help those are afflicted with blood-cancer related diseases.

"The [LLS] mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and improve the quality of life of patients and their families," Cueva said.

Cueva said the program sponsors people to participate in events that raise donations for blood-cancer research and patient services. These events include the Nov. 17 Philadelphia Marathon.

According to Cueva, $2000 will be raised for cancer research at the marathon. She also said that more can be raised if Seton Hall students participated.

Cueva said she realizes how passionate and enthusiastic Seton Hall students are about the fight against all cancers and hopes they'll join raise awareness and funds to continue the fight.

"I hope to have Seton Hall students engaged and involved with the fight against all types of cancer, and know that with their donations," Cueva said. "They will be helping all cancer patients reach their finish line, beating cancer."
