Seton Hall trails Louisville 23-22 at halftime in the second round of the Big East Championships.

Both teams struggled shooting in the half with the Pirates going 6-24 for 25 percent shooting while Louisville shot 28 percent on 8-29 shooting. From beyond the arc the Pirates shot 2-10 with seniors Jordan Theodore and Herb Pope making their first shots.

Both teams traded baskets for the first 10 minutes of the half with no team holding a lead bigger than four points. The Cardinals' got a layup from sophomore Russ Smith giving them a 13-12 lead.

Junior Peyton Siva hit a 3-pointer with 5:09 remaining to give Louisville the largest lead of the half at 20-14. The Pirates put together an 8-0 aided by freshman Brandon Mobley and sophomore Fuquan Edwin making all of their free throws following fouls on 3-point attempts.

The Cardinals quickly responded and with just under two minutes left in the half took the lead back with senior Kyle Kuric making two of his three free throw attempts.

Smith took a last second 3-point attempt right before the halftime buzzer but hit rim.
