Big East slate set for men's basketball

The Big East Conference released the 2010-11 men's basketball opponents matrix on Thursday which revealed that the Pirates will be facing Rutgers, Syracuse and Marquette both at home and on the road.

The upcoming season marks the fourth straight that each of the 16 schools will compete in 18 Big East games, playing 12 teams once and three teams twice.

Seton Hall's 18 conference games are split evenly between those played at the Prudential Center and those played on the road.

The nine home games include Connecticut, Georgetown, Marquette, Providence, Rutgers, St. John's, South Florida, Syracuse and Villanova.

The Pirates are set to travel to Cincinnati, DePaul, Louisville, Marquette, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse and West Virginia.

Dates and times for the games will be determined at a later date in addition to the non-conference schedule.

One significant date for the conference that has been determined is the opening day of the 2011 Big East Tournament which will take place on March 8, 2011 at Madison Square Garden. Tickets are already on sale for the tournament scheduled to run through March 12.

Seton Hall will also be participating in the Paradise Jam Tournament in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The Hall's first round opponent will be Alabama on Nov. 19. If victorious, the team will take on the winner of Iowa/Xavier on Nov. 21.

The tournament's third game for the Pirates is to be determined.

The Hall will also meet Arkansas on Dec. 8 in at Freedom Hall in Louisville for the start of the Big East/SEC Invitational.
