Rachwal focused on leaving a legacy in senior year

Amanda Rachwal’s road to collegiate volleyball started out like most other girls who played on high school and club teams while getting ready to take it to the next level. In Rachwal’s case, it took a call from her mother to Seton Hall Volleyball coach Allison Yaeger to give her a head start on what would be a productive career.

BIG EAST postpones all Fall 2020 sports contests

Per Big East Conference press release, the conference has decided to postpone all sports contests for the upcoming Fall 2020 season. The decision to postpone the remaining in-conference games was made by the BIG EAST COVID-19 Task Force on Wednesday, August 12.

Young talent gives volleyball hope after rebuilding 2019 season

With finals approaching and the days getting shorter, it is obvious that fall sports have ended and the winter sports season is upon us. Ironically, Seton Hall’s one indoor fall sport, volleyball, finished its season the Sunday (Nov. 24) before thanksgiving on a high note, defeating the Georgetown Hoyas in Washington, D.C. The season-ending win capped off a rebuilding year for the Pirates, who finished 8-24, including 3-15 in conference play.

Pirates fall to Bulldogs

The Seton Hall women’s volleyball team fell, 3-2, to the Butler Bulldogs on Friday night after having a 2-0 lead in the match. The Pirates have now lost eight straight games and fall  7-20 for the season. Julia Wilkins led the Pirates with 16 kills on the night and Maggie Cvelbar had a team-high 31 assists.

Volleyball underclassmen cause for optimism during rebuilding year

The 2019 season for Seton Hall women’s volleyball can generously be described as a rebuilding year. The Pirates currently sit at 7-19, including 2-10 in Big East play, merely a week after the de-facto midway point the conference slate. The Pirates have to win all six remaining conference gamesand hope the conference’s upper half team struggle in order to be one of the four squads to qualify for the Big East tournament.

Pirates Defeat Hoyas in straight sets

The Seton Hall volleyball team got back in the win column tonight with a straight set win over Georgetown, dispatching the Hoyas 25-13, 25-18, 25-19, a much needed rebound after a straight set loss to Creighton Saturday night.
