Voter registration drive hosted in University Center

The Student Life Committee held a voter registration drive on Feb. 18, to encourage students to register to vote. Students were able to use vote.org to register and check their voter registration status in the Galleon Hallway. Students who will not be home to vote were also able to request their absentee ballots.

SHU halts China M.B.A. program amid virus outbreak

Seton Hall University’s Health Services sent out new guidance regarding novel coronavirus, the latest flu-like virus which is thought to have originated in the Hubei province of China in Wuhan City. The direction, which was sent out in an email blast to the University community advised students and faculty who have been in close contact with someone confirmed to have the coronavirus for 14 days and contact health services immediately.

Seton Hall proposes plan to eliminate laptop program

Three senior officials from Seton Hall University presented their case for the elimination of Seton Hall’s mobile computing program and took questions from Senators at Monday night’s Student Government Association meeting. The presentation came two weeks after SGA President Rishi Shah announced that the University was considering a phaseout of the program as soon as next year.

SGA changes election ticket policy

The Student Government Association (SGA) will be changing the way they handle tickets during elections. In the past, senate tickets could affiliate themselves with an executive board ticket. However, due to the new policy change, executive board tickets and senate tickets must be separated. They will no longer be able to run as one big ticket.

Veggie Society plans fundraiser for Australian Wildfires

Seton Hall’s Veggie Society has announced that they will host an environmentally friendly tricky tray fundraiser on March 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the University Center main lounge to raise money to aid relief efforts for the Australian wildfire epidemic.

Board announces 2020 Emma Quartaro Woman of the Year award

The Woman of the Year Committee has selected Dr. Cecilia Marzabadi as the recipient of the 2020 Woman of the Year Award. Formally known as the Emma Quartaro Woman of the Year Award, this award recognizes women of the Seton Hall University community who are successful leaders and who honor their contributions and commitment to women’s issues.

University to create Division of University Relations

The University is currently developing the Division of University Relations, which will combine the existing departments of Government Relations and Public Relations and Marketing. Interim Vice President for University Advancement Matthew Borowick has been appointed as the head of the division.

SHUNA ranks 12th in the nation

According to the website, Best Delegate for Model United Nations, Seton Hall University’s United Nations Association (SHUNA) has recently ranked 12th in the nation ahead of Columbia, Yale and Princeton for their Model United Nations team.
