Since the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting in 2012, where 20 children and six adults were killed, there have been approximately 1,600 mass shootings in the United States as of February of 2018, according to The New York Times. In 2018 alone, there were 340 mass shootings in the country, and nearly four months into 2019, there have been approximately 75, according to the Gun Violence Archive.

Students from the Stillman School of Business won the inaugural CBXmarket University Challenge, defeating 30 teams comprised of more than 100 students from various colleges across the country. The challenge was created by CBXmarket, a software company that provides market research, portfolio management and analytics on investment opportunities.

Residents of New Jersey would be hard pressed to believe the validity of the state’s nickname – The Garden State. However, a drive south on the turnpike or west on Route 78 will reveal acres of farmland which produce New Jersey’s main exports – crops, particularly tomatoes and blueberries. While New Jersey still exports crops throughout the country, in recent years the state’s main export has become basketball talent.

Happy spring break Pirates! We’ve officially made it, I know it seems like we’d never make it. Spring break is officially upon us, midterms are over for the most part, and we have definitely all earned a break. This is why, we at The Setonian wanted to wish our fellow students a great break because you deserve it, but also offer a warning and some advice.
