The Teaching, Learning and Technology Center (TLTC)’s new Innovation Hub is officially open on the ground floor of Walsh Library, offering Seton Hall students and faculty a space for content creation and hands-on experimentation with emerging technology.
In a press release published by SHU’s Information Technology (IT) department, Michael Soupios, executive director of the TLTC, described the Innovation Hub as “a creative space where students and faculty can experiment with new tools, turn ideas into prototypes and explore projects beyond traditional assignments.”
The Hub houses several specialized studios. The Maker Studio provides access to 3D printers, laser engraving tools, CNC machines, vinyl cutting and robotics kits. The space allows users to build and prototype projects.
The Hub also features an Exploration Studio, where students can work with virtual reality and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies including Meta Quest Pro headsets and high-performance PCs. The studio is intended to encourage academic research and “exploratory learning.”
For students interested in media and communications, the Content Creation Studios offer high-quality recording spaces, including a four-microphone podcast studio, a lightboard studio for instructional content, an automated video studio designed for quick recordings and a full production studio led by SHU’s Digital Media Team.
In addition to creative spaces, the Innovation Hub includes the Solutions Studio, a walk-up technology support desk open seven days a week. Staffed by professional staff and student technicians, the desk provides assistance with troubleshooting hardware and software issues, network access and student account issues.
The Hub is now open to the SHU community, with studio access details available through the TLTC website.
