Seton Hall women’s basketball remained perfect on the season with a 67-57 win against Wake Forest on Sunday afternoon. In both games this season, the Pirates have won by double digits.
Seton Hall ran with the same starting five as Saturday’s game against Saint Peter's, consisting of JaQuan Jackson and Nicole Jimenez at guard and Taylor Brown, Shadeen Samuels and Donnaizha Fountain at forward.

The Pirates were hot out of the gate. They quickly jumped to an 8-4 lead and Wake Forest was forced to use its first timeout of the half. Coming out of the timeout, however, Wake Forest calmed things down and escaped the quarter trailing by one basket.
The second quarter started in Seton Hall's favor, forcing multiple Wake Forest turnovers and missed field goals. Seton Hall held a nine-point lead, the largest of the half, following a Jackson layup at the three-minute mark of the second quarter.
Although Wake Forest was once again able to chip into the lead, the Pirates held a 41-36 lead heading into halftime.
At the start of the second half, neither team could find its rhythm. The score remained 41-36 for over three minutes, until a layup from Wake Forest made it a one-possession game.
The teams traded points as the third quarter progressed. With 40 seconds to play, Butina hit a jump shot to put the Pirates right back to where they began at the start of the half with a five-point lead.
Seton Hall took control early in the fourth quarter. Just under four minutes in, Fountain picked up her 10th rebound of the game to earn a double-double.
Things were not smooth sailing for the Pirates from that point on, though. In the middle of the quarter, Wake Forest went on a run to cut the lead to two points, forcing Seton Hall to call a timeout.
Following the timeout, the Pirates showed their poise. Kaela Hilaire and Fountain combined to hit three straight free throws to give the Pirates a five-point lead in the waning moments of the game.
The Pirates went on to win 67-57, much in part due to their bench. In total, Seton Hall outscored Wake Forest in bench points 27-11.
The Pirates return to action at Walsh Gymnasium on Thursday, Nov. 16 against Princeton University.
