Following a third place finish at Monmouth and a fourth place finish at Stony Brook, she finished fifth overall on Sunday in the women’s 5K race. The Hernandez sisters have also proven their abilities this season. At Embry-Riddle, Olivia placed seventh in the 5K with a time of 20:12.9, while Emily finished in eighth with a time of 20:12.94. After a tiebreaker with Stetson University, the Seton Hall men’s team finished in sixth place overall with a score of 163. Jesse Southard was the highest ranked runner for Seton Hall in the men’s 8K run, coming in 16th with a time of 27:39.1. Though it was not a top ten finish, it is an improvement from his 20th place finish back in 2016. Despite a slow start to the season for the team, Southard has remained a consistent top performer in the three meets so far. Jarod Moser and Justin Allone rounded out the top three runners for Seton Hall but finished in 23rd and 31st overall respectively. The Pirates return to action on Saturday, Sep. 22 at the UMES Cappy Anderson Invitational. Madisyn Travisano can be reached at madisyn.travisano@student.shu.edu or on Twitter @maditravisano
