The Setonian’s Editorial Board is pleased to announce that Samantha Todd has been named its next Editor-in-Chief.
Todd is currently serving as The Setonian’s Managing Editor and is in her third year at Seton Hall. She also interned at The Bernardsville News and will be interning with the Echoes-Sentinel this summer.
She has been an invaluable cog in The Setonian’s machine and knows the AP Stylebook like it’s the back of her hand. Todd has been writing for this newspaper ever since she was a freshman. She started as a staff writer, eventually making her way up to News Copy Editor, then to Managing Editor.
Though she may be quiet upon first meeting her, she shouldn’t be underestimated because nothing gets past her. She has a talent when it comes to news, being sure to get the facts right and made sure everyone’s voices are heard.
She never says “no” to taking a story and when she gets to work, she gets the job done.
Todd has been a silent motivator for The Setonian throughout the last year. She remains positive, yet isn’t afraid to tell the truth. She also manages to keep things organized and on schedule, something the current Editor-in-Chief, Ashley Turner, will forever be grateful for (seeing as organization is a skill in which Turner lacks).
Aside from her amazing professionalism, Todd is simply just a quality person. She’s been a team player since she started working for the paper and she gets along with every person on the E-Board.
She’s not a talker, but once you open her shell, she’ll show you just how pleasant of a person she is. She’s also known for dropping some of the funniest one-liners at times when it’s least expected, especially from her.
The newspaper could not be more excited for Todd to take over in May. We know she will do great things during her tenure as Editor-in-Chief and look forward to seeing just how far she brings The Setonian.
