On Tuesday, Nov. 3 students had the chance to score and win a date with a Pirate Athlete. Eighteen athletes representing five teams--baseball, basketball, cross country, swimming and diving and soccer--participated in Alpha Kappa Psi’s sixth annual Win A Date with a Pirate Athlete. Proceeds from the event are to be donated to the fraternity’s philanthropy: Autism Speaks. “We hope that the funds donated will go to helping increase awareness and research in this area,” Selene Presseller, a senior and brother of Alpha Kappa Psi, said. “We hope to bring more light to this cause in order to help the individuals and their families who live with autism.” Michelle Foti can be reached at michelle.foti@student.shu.edu
