Seton Hall is one of 30 universities nationwide that are collaborating on “The Big East Way” brand marketing campaign that focuses on the “tough and gritty” style of sports played in the conference. The Seton Hall project will result in a series of digital vignettes produced by FOX sports that features the traditional values of Seton Hall as expressed by members of the SHU community. The production will run on television, the University’s website and at Seton Hall athletic contests. “The Seton Hall Way” is part of the Big East’s “The Big East Way” marketing campaign and is a product of SHU and the Stillman School of Business teaming up with FOX Sports University. Laurence McCarthy, associate professor in Stillman’s Sport Management Program, and his students came up with the idea of labelling SHU as a “Small school making a big difference.” Christopher Carl, assistant athletics director for marketing and promotions, said McCarthy’s Sports Marketing class is planning, developing and overseeing the making of this professional video. “It provides an opportunity to showcase the great pride we have in the University while providing students behind the project the opportunity to learn and develop from a real world project,” Carl said. Freshman Christopher Leno, finance major, said he attended the casting call on Nov. 3 because he wanted the opportunity to talk about his first year experience at SHU. Being part of the project “you get to go out and experience new things and broaden your horizons with people who are doing the same thing as you,” Leno said.
