Interim Provost: By Christmas, decision expected on Seton Hall president

Interim Provost Dr. Larry Robinson said he believes the University's presidential vacancy - the position currently held by Dr. A. Gabriel Esteban on an interim basis - should reach some conclusion before the end of the month.

"It is my impression and expectation that prior to Christmas, there should be some resolution of the leadership of the University, regarding the presidency," Robinson said at a Faculty Senate meeting held today.

Robinson said he did not attend the last meeting of the Board of Regents, and that he was trying to inform the Senate about where the University may stand.

"I do not mean to fuel speculation or preempt the Chair of the Board of Regents or the Archbishop," Robinson said. "I may be wrong," he told The Setonian after he finished his report to the Senate.

Members of the faculty senate declined to comment on Robinson's remarks.
